Role
Greek co-worker of Paul; left to set the church in Crete in order
When
c. AD 49-60s

What they did

He went with Paul and Barnabas to Jerusalem, comforted Paul with news from Corinth, organised the collection for the saints, and was left in Crete to ordain elders; Paul's letter to Titus was written to him.

Why it matters: the purpose of their role

Though a Greek, he was not compelled to be circumcised, a living proof that Gentiles are accepted by faith in Christ without the law.

But neither Titus, who was with me, being a Greek, was compelled to be circumcised: Galatians 2:3 (KJV)
