Sold by his brothers, Joseph is raised up to preserve life during famine.
The story
Betrayed, enslaved and imprisoned, Joseph remains faithful. God gives him wisdom to interpret Pharaoh's dreams and he is set over all the land of Egypt.
When his brothers come for food, he forgives them and the family of Israel settles in Egypt.
What it teaches
God is at work even in betrayal and delay. "Ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good."
