With His stripes we are healed

“But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.”

Isaiah 53:5 (KJV)

Today's message

At the cross Jesus took what we deserved, so that we might receive peace with God.

Every phrase points to substitution: our transgressions, our iniquities, our peace, laid upon Him.

Practical application

Read the account of the crucifixion in John 19 and thank Him personally.

Prayer

Lord Jesus, thank You for bearing my sin on the cross. I receive Your peace and healing. Amen.
